Think You Can Talk Your Way Out of a Seattle Criminal Charge? Think Again.

Posted in How to Deal With Cops by jimmclovin on November 21, 2009

I get several of DUI clients in Seattle. Nearly all are citizens just akin to you and me. Usual people. The lone difference is they generally have committed merely one poor blunder that they are currently facing punishment for. For nearly everyone it is a Seattle drunk driving allegation or methamphetamine possession allegation.

Nevertheless since my clients have frequently on no account been in difficulty before beyond the indiscriminate speeding ticket here and there, they hold no idea how to deal along with the cops once they arrive and are investigating you for a criminal act. This is for two primary reasons: firstly, since of the media (counting promotion by the police) we intrinsically believe the cops are out there to aid us; and second, the cops understand this and play to this, and exploit their authority as habitually as possible to cause you to do things you don’t need to do.

If my customers would have merely paid attention in social studies seminar in high school and government seminar in high school, or really examine those cop programs that are all over television, they would grasp that after the police show up and are investigating a crime, they are not your pal. They are there for one purpose only – to collect evidence against you. And the most excellent way the obtain that information is you – that’s right, repeatedly you make your own bed when it comes to the Seattle DUI accusations you face.

Like I said, I’m a Seattle criminal attorney. There is nothing I like to observe less than a law enforcement description that includes a lot of my client’s statements. They on no account aid – they constantly hurt. And they are over and over again the main source for the accusations my client is facing.

So, what should you do if you are investigated for a felony? First, lock up your lips. And don’t open it unless you aspire to speak the words “get me a attorney.” Otherwise you are truly hurting yourself. Second, when you articulate those terms, strive to close yourself down as best you can. The police aren’t going to enjoy this and they are going to try everything they can to induce you chatting. This includes using your qualms, your principles, and the belongings you care about, against you. Just remain calm until you have a criminal defense attorney in attendance to help you. It will make a mammoth alteration.
